Just ten kilometers from the Villa there is the excavation of Otrhi Petra, in Ancient Eleftherna, which is considered a premier discovery in the world. At the same place there is the museum of Ancient Eleftherna which reveals to the visitor the heart of ancient Crete. During the summer months there are frequent connections with public transport.

3) A must- see destination on the south of rethymnon, is the beach of “Preveli” surrounded by a beautiful palm tree for exploration by foot ( 40 km from the town of rethymnon)
4) “Triopetra” and “Agios Paulos” are also beautiful and more secluded beaches , located in the south of Rethymnon, in which the wild nature of crete is displayed ( 55 to 58 km from the centre of Rethymnon)
5) ” Balos ” beach in Chania, has also a unique landscape with a pristine clear beach to swim . If you choose Balos you could combine your roadtrip with a stop at Chania for a nice walk on the old Venetian port during the sunset ( about 120 km from rethymnon)
6) “Seitan Limani ” is also located in Chania and it really worths a visit ( about. 20 km north of Chania )
